Elizabeth Matfin

Elizabeth is a Solicitor and Collaborative Lawyer who qualified in 2003 after gaining an honours degree in Law & Accountancy followed by a commendation in Legal Practice at the College of Law in York.

During her career she has worked in both national and high street firms and has been a Partner at a traditional high street firm specialising in both family work and mixed litigation for individuals and small businesses.
For the past 8 years she has worked at a regional multi-office firm specialising predominantly in family law with some dispute resolution and debt recovery work and also headed up the family department before stepping down to pursue her own business interests alongside her legal work.

Expertise
Elizabeth is fully experienced in all aspects of family work including financial and living together agreements, divorce, children matters and domestic violence. She also regularly advises on issues arising out of separation for married and unmarried couples as well as attending to practical issues such as change of name deeds.

Elizabeth is a trained collaborative lawyer and aims to help separating couples achieve arrangements in respect of their finances and children as quickly and amicably as possible. She is a member of Resolution and a trained champion for IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Service).

Elizabeth is also experienced in advising individuals and small businesses with dispute resolution matters including debt recovery work.

Elizabeth describes herself as a “people person” who is friendly and approachable with the ability to relate and communicate with people from all walks of life in an approachable and sensitive manner.

Interests
Elizabeth owns a Bridal boutique and loves all aspects of weddings but especially buying dresses! She also regularly enjoys dance, yoga, the theatre and spending time with friends and family.
